Lazio Coach Davide Ballardini Sitting On Dismissal Time Bomb - Report
The Lazio tactician is treading on thin ice as reports suggest the curtains could fall if he losses to the Rossoneri...
Lazio coach Davide Ballardini is sitting on a time bomb, and a loss to Milan on Sunday afternoon will trigger it off.
According to Puntosport.net, time is running out for the former Palermo coach. Lazio have not won in Serie A since August, and the 4-1 loss to Villarreal in the Europa League on Thursday has heightened the concern at Formello.
The report suggests president Claudio Lotito, who was watching the game at El Madrigal, called an informal meeting with the coach, and sporting director Igli Tare.
It is said Ballardini's job is now on the line, and the match against Milan will be decisive as to whether he retains his tenure at the club. Former Lazio defender Sinisa Mihajlovic is favourite to replace him. Former Siena coach Mario Beretta has also been tipped to come in, but he claimed he has never heard from the club earlier today.
To add to Ballardini's worries, Lazio have not won against Milan in Serie A for over 12 years.
