UEFA president Michel Platini has taken a snipe back at Inter, telling them to read the interview he gave to The Daily Telegraph properly following his 'clubs in debt' comments.

On Monday, the Frenchman suggested Inter were in debt with the banks - a claim the Nerazzurri were quick to deny.

Inter chief executive Ernesto Paolillo then went further, claiming Platini had made a huge blunder and that he should have studied the club's balance sheet before commenting.

"Platini would be wise to study our books and compare them with others. If he wants to talk, he can talk about being self sufficient, but he didn't do that. He spoke about debt in our regard, and that was wrong. However, we replied straight away," Paolillo told Radio Radio Tv just hours after Platini's interview was published.

The UEFA president has now reacted, but he did not want to get dragged into a slanging match with the Italian side.

"I think people need to read the interview properly," Platini told the press as he met with EU president Jerzy Buzek during a meeting at the European Parliament.

Platini spoke briefly around the panic surrounding clubs regarding the swine flu virus. The former Juventus man believes it's a matter to be dealt by the clubs, rather than football institutions.

"I am not a doctor, every team can do what it wants," concluded the chief.
