Roma's David Pizarro Delighted With New Deal
Pizarro is pleased to have married himself to the Lupi until 2013. He has also spoken of the club's fans, who have been split in two regarding the Giallorossi's performances of late...
Roma midfielder David Pizarro has spoken of his delight following his recent contract renewal at the club.
The Chilean signed a new four-year deal last week. His new contract will now expire in 2013, and he will earn €3.2 million-per-season.
"I had already spoken with the club in the summer and I am really happy about the renewal of my contract," Pizarro told the press ahead of Thursday's Europa League clash with Fulham.
"I guess it didn't come at the ideal moment, but I am happy to be staying here."
Pizarro spoke about the club's fans following a delicate week at Trigoria. Some tifosi have egged the team on, but others have been less enthusiastic. Nevertheless, Pizarro believes his side can get their season into shape.
"A section of the fans have been with us, and we saw this in the stands, but others have not been. It's a shame that it has been like this," added the midfielder.
"However, fans are like that. It's not the period we all wanted, but the team is working hard to get into good positions in Europe and in Serie A."
