Roma coach Claudio Ranieri has taken a swipe at Juventus boss Ciro Ferrara, indicating that the rookie trainer has been given greater leeway than he was afforded during his time with the Bianconeri.

"If I was in Ferrara's position, I would have been sacked by now," Ranieri told Il Corriere Dello Sport.

"He is just starting and I am sure he could do well, but he has never been a coach before this year. When I was there he coached the youngsters.

"You always have to win at Juve, but I am fine like this. I'm just thinking about Roma. If Juve have problems, then others will solve them."

Ranieri was then quick to remind everyone what he achieved at the club.

"When a coach takes the team to third place in their first season back following promotion, then he gives them the Champions League, he cannot represent the problem," he concluded.
