Napoli Eager To Land Liverpool Defender Andrea Dossena - Report
The Italian club are reportedly interested in the Italian full-back and could make a move in January...
Napoli are ready to push the boat out during the January transfer window, as they chase Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena.
Il Corriere Dello Sport reports the Azzurri have been chasing the Italian right-back who has been peripheral at Anfield this season, following a recent muscular injury.
Napoli were eager to land him already in the summer, but the move never got off the ground. After reshuffling plans under new coach Walter Mazzarri, the Campania-based side are keen to open up discourse and show their hand in January.
It is said that the initial deal will be a loan until the summer, when Napoli will attempt to sign him permanently. Furthermore, voices claim Mazzarri has already given the go-ahead to the move.
Dossena may be joined by Danubio midfielder Sebastian Rodriguez who is also expected to arrive. Napoli scouts have been following the youngster who recently played at the Under-17 World Cup.
On Tuesday, Dossena's agent Roberto La Florio hinted that his client could return to Serie A in order to secure regular action to boost his World Cup hopes.
