Carlo Mazzone: Roma Fans Exaggerate
The Italian disagrees with the recent fan protests in the face of the Giallorossi's on-field woes...
Former Roma coach Carlo Mazzone has condemned the recent behaviour from a number of tifosi, claiming their protests have gone too far.
His reaction comes just days after fans threw explosives into Trigoria, and 24 hours after the team was jeered following their narrow win over Bologna on Sunday. A group of supporters caused a hornets nest of protests after a bunch of flowers were laid near the stands.
"It's a difficult moment in the relationship between Roma and their fans. Though I must say the the determination of fans can be judged during negative moments and thus [Claudio] Ranieri is right," Mazzone told La Repubblica.
"There is plenty of worry and tension, but all that's needed is another win to come out of this moment.
"Roma fans have too much passion and love for the team, but I think they are exaggerating now."
