According to a report in today’s edition of the Corriere dello Sport, Roma captain Franscesco Totti will put pen to paper on a new five-year deal this week.

Terms between the parties were agreed weeks ago, but the official announcement had been delayed after the 33-year-old has expressed his desire to work in the Giallorossi backroom staff once he hangs up his boots.

But Roma’s lawyer, Antonio Conte, has now allegedly found a solution to resolve the impasse and Totti will be formally assured of a place within the club at the end of his footballing career.

Totti will be entrusted with a technical director position and will be able to choose whether to preside over the first team or the youth academy.

Totti’s current contract was set to run out next summer.
