Genoa Defender Francesco Modesto Rues Goalless Draw With Palermo
Modesto is adamant the Grifoni were good value for three points last night...
Palermo and Genoa shared the spoils in an entertaining affair at the Stadio Barbera, but Rossoblu defender Francesco Modesto was left to rue a missed chance to move into fourth place in the table.
“It’s a shame because I thought that we could have won against Palermo in the end,” Modesto told Sky Sport Italia.
“But it is still fine. It’s our first 0-0 draw of the campaign and we kept a clean sheet. All in all, it is a good result.
“We knew we would face a strong team and played an open game. Their goalkeeper made excellent saves, but [Alessio] Scarpi also made an incredible save from [Fabrizio] Miccoli.”
Genoa play bottom side Siena at Marassi next weekend but the Grifoni are back in action on Thursday when they host Lille in a crunch Europa League clash.
