The Giallorossi were coming off three straight defeats and were sent into a training camp this week.
And the Curva Sud Ultras vented their anger by displaying a wreath to ‘celebrate’ the team’s funeral prior to the match.
“It’s not easy to play in this kind of environment,” midfielder David Pizarro lamented on the Roma Channel.
“But the important thing was our reaction and the result. This victory is particularly important for our serenity.
“We can now return to our families. Players don’t like training camps. But we had to adapt and did it.
“But Roma fans are like that and they showed their attachment today. We just have to keep going now and show our worth on the field of play. Enough with the talk.”
Next up for Roma is a home clash with English side Fulham in the Europa League on Thursday.
