Inter's Esteban Cambiasso Eyeing Captain's Armband
The Nerazzurro is hoping that one day, he can take over the role of captain at the club...
Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso believes that Javier Zanetti is the ideal captain for the team and that he can remain in this position for a long time.
However, he admitted that he would really like to be the new Nerazzurri's captain, once Zanetti has retired, as it would be a big honour for him.
"After Zanetti, will I be Inter's captain? If I must be honest, I don't think about this thing," declared the Argentinean player to Inter Channel.
"My friend Zanetti will be our captain for many years. Sometimes I start thinking whether I will retire before him or he will.
"Javier is monstrous. However, maybe one day I will really be the next Inter captain."
Inter will be facing Dynamo Kiev away from home on Wednesday in a game they cannot afford to lose, if they are to qualify for the next round of the Champions League.
In Serie A, the Nerazzurri already taken a comfortable seven point lead over Juventus after 11 games played.
