AC Milan have confirmed the extent of Alessandro Nesta's injury, and it is not serious.

The Italian defender came off after just eight minutes during the 2-2 draw against Napoli on Wednesday. Nesta was seen holding the back of his hamstring as he left the pitch, but tests have revealed there are no further consequences.

A statement on the club's official website reads:

"The examination that Alessandro Nesta underwent today has excluded any muscular injury. The player came off the pitch in the game against Napoli."

It's good news for Milan, but Leonardo is likely to rest his defender tomorrow night against Parma.

Nesta is expected to be back in action when the Rossoneri welcome Real Madrid in the Champions League.
