It Would Be An Honour To Coach Lazio - Sinisa Mihajlovic
Mihajlovic wouldn't mind coaching the club, but he has moved away from the speculation for now...
Former Lazio defender Sinisa Mihajlovic admits he would be honoured to coach the club, but distanced himself from reports claiming Davide Ballardini's job was on the line.
The Aquile have been struggling, and they are winless since week two of the campaign. The poor run led the club to take drastic measures to solve the recent impasse, and they went into ritiro. Fans also showed their anger earlier this week with a protest where they called for heads to roll.
Mihajlovic spent seven years at the club scoring 20 goals in 153 appearances, but a swift return to the Olimpico is unlikely.
"Anyone would like to coach Lazio. It would be an honour, but it's not right to talk about it as they are in a moment of difficulty," the former left-back told Sky Sport Italia.
"They have a great coach already, and they have everything that will allow them to come out from this moment."
The Biancocelesti will clash with Siena at the Artemio Franchi on Sunday. A loss could see them dragged into the mire as they are just a point away from the relegation zone.
