Inter's Cristian Chivu Receives One Match Ban As Massimo Moratti Hails Mario Balotelli
The Nerazzurri will play at the weekend without the Romanian defender. Meanwhile, young star Balotelli has received praise after a stellar midweek showing...
Inter defender Cristian Chivu has been hit with a one-match ban and will miss the away trip to Livorno on Sunday.
The Lega Calcio have confirmed that sports judge Giampaolo Tosel applied the letter of the law following the Romanian's yellow card against Palermo. Chivu was cautioned for a two footed challenge on Fabrizio Miccoli. It was his fourth yellow card of the season and thus he receives the suspension.
Meanwhile, president Massimo Moratti has hailed Mario Balotelli for his incredible showing in the 5-3 win over the Sicilians. Balotelli scored a brace, won a penalty and set up Samuel Eto'o for one of his two goals.
"Balotelli played a stupendous game. His true qualities came out and he was very generous as he gave the ball to everyone. His name was on four of the five goals," Moratti told Inter Channel.
"I really enjoyed the first half. It was a beautiful game."
