Roma's midfield duo David Pizarro and Simone Perrotta have put pen to paper and signed extended deals at the club.

The new terms had been in the pipeline and both players' original contracts were due to expire in the summer. The club have now moved in to secure their future and two separate statements on their official website confirming the new agreeent read:

"AS Roma S.p.A and David Pizarro would like to note an agreement has been reached over the extension of the contract which expires on June 30, 2013.

"The player will earn €3.2 million per season as well as bonuses which will be linked to predetermined objectives."

Perrotta's reward is similar to Pizarro's, but his deal expires earlier.

"AS Roma S.p.A and Simone Perrotta would like to note an agreement has been reached over the extension of the contract which expires on June 30, 2011.

"The player will receive €3.1 million for the 2010/11 season as well as bonuses linked to predetermined objectives."

It's positive news for the Lupi following a period of antithetical headlines regarding their recent form on the pitch.
