Claudio Ranieri Agrees With Fabio Capello: The Ultras Control Italian Football

Roma coach Claudio Ranieri has agreed with England boss Fabio Capello, who claimed that it is "the ultras who rule Serie A."
The former Real Madrid boss spoke yesterday about the state of Calcio, saying there is no courage to apply laws against the supporters in the peninsula. Ranieri has endorsed that view by providing an example from when he was in charge at Juventus.
"I can tell you that last year, [Juventus] wanted Dejan Stankovic from Inter. However, the fans did not like the bond he had with the Nerazzurri and eventually he remained there," he explained to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Now you can all see how he is playing in the league."
Nerazzurri coach Jose Mourinho had decided Stankovic was not needed at the San Siro. However, the player quickly became an integral part of the Portuguese tactician's plans and has been in excellent form over the past year after the Juventus fans effectively blocked his transfer.
Ranieri, who has coached in England with Chelsea, also shares other experiences with Capello. Both have coached in the Primera Division in Spain, and both have bossed Juventus and the Giallorossi.
