Fabio Cannavaro: Alessandro Nesta, Antonio Cassano & Francesco Totti Are All Champions
The Azzurri stalwart admires the skill of the trio but is adamant that it's not for him to say whether they return to the national squad...
However, the player claims he has no say in the matter and that he trusts coach Marcello Lippi to make the correct choices.
"I would like all of them [to come back] - they are all champions," he was quoted as saying by Rai Sport.
"However, it isn't the players who decide. Cassano is a strong player and is doing well, but Lippi knows his stuff and we must let him work."
Alessandro Nesta spent the majority of last season out with injury but has returned to form with Milan.
"We are happy to see him back to a great extent. He decided to leave the Azzurri, that's a difficult decision to rethink," concluded the 36-year-old.
