Chievo Are Not Afraid Of Milan – Coach Domenico Di Carlo
The Flying Donkeys are quietly confident heading into their next match…
Chievo have had a more than respectable start to the campaign, as they are currently sitting comfortably in the middle of the standings, with 11 points recorded from the opening eight rounds of matches.
Their next task in Serie A is a home fixture against an in-form Milan side, who at present are just one point ahead of the Flying Donkeys, with 12 to their name.
The Rossoneri defeated Roma in the league last weekend, before sensationally accounting for Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League midweek, against all of the odds.
Despite this, the coach of Chievo, Domenico Di Carlo, has stressed that this does not bother his side, and that they are confident of attaining a result.
“Obviously AC Milan are a team that are in much better shape than they were a month ago,” Di Carlo stated in an interview, as reported by Sportal.it.
“They are coming off a very good win against Roma, and an amazing victory over Real in Spain.
“It is never easy playing against one of the big clubs, because at any moment they can change the game in an instant. But we must face them without awe, with the confidence and the knowledge that we can achieve a result.
“Tactically we must be good to maintain possession of the ball, and we will be looking to play a quick style of play, in order to put our opponents in difficulty.
“Then, of course, there is the lethal [Alexandre] Pato; [Andrea] Pirlo is a phenomenon in the set pieces; Ronaldinho is a champion; and [Marco] Borriello will want to show off.
“We will try our best as we always do, and obviously what we do on the field will determine the final outcome. We must try to get some points against anyone.”
Chievo and Milan square off in the Sunday night fixture in Verona, with the play scheduled to get underway at 20:45 CET.
