Palermo's Mattia Cassani Wants To Respect His Contract
The defender wouldn't consider a contract from a big club, should it arrive...
Palermo stopper Mattia Cassani has declared that he wants to remain loyal to his current club, by repsecting his contract right until the very end.
"Should an offer from a big club arrive, I won't even think about it," the 26-year-old told a press conference, as reported by TMW.
"I want to respect the contract that I renewed in September. The club has placed great faith in me, and I hope to continue on repaying it.
"I am happy at Palermo, as are my family, so there are no motivations to leave. I also like to complete my projects, and I hope to achieve something with this guernsey."
As for a possible call-up to the Italian national team, Cassani remains hopeful.
He continued, "[National team coach Marcello] Lippi has stated openly that everyone can be called up.
"Certainly, the fact that I am young could help my cause, and [Rosanero team-mate Federico] Balzaretti, but it should become our obsessions.
"The Azzurri call-up only comes when you play well for your team," Cassani concluded.
