AC Milan Midfielder Andrea Pirlo: Beating Real Madrid Will Be Our Turning Point
The Italian midfield magician believes the victory against Real Madrid has paved the way towards a positive season...
Andrea Pirlo believes AC Milan's win over Real Madrid in the Champions League can be the turning point of their season.
"This game arrived in a decisive moment in our season. Winning against Roma on Sunday allowed us to go to Madrid to play our game and win," Pirlo told Milan Channel.
The Italian maestro claims his side were always aware they could turn on the heat against their Spanish opposition, despite going a goal down early on. Pirlo believes team cohesion and belief was the difference on the night.
"We always knew that we had every chance of winning the game, even when we went behind," added Pirlo.
"We knew things would be difficult from the start of the season, but the club, coach and players always stayed together and we are convinced we can do well."
