Genoa midfielder Houssine Kharja will undergo surgery in the next 24 hours to repair the damage done to his injured knee.

The Moroccan international will have his left anterior cruciate ligament reconstructed, after picking up the serious injury in training last week.

He will be out of action for up to six months, as he tries to recuperate and recover.

The Grifoni are currently having midfield issues, as a number of their key players are missing from the centre of the park due to injury.

Bosko Jankovic, Marco Rossi and Ivan Juric have all got some form of ailment, whilst Giandomenico Mesto may be rushed back into the side, when the team takes on Lille in the Europa League Thursday evening.
