Milan Defender Oguchi Onyewu To Have Knee Surgery On Wednesday - Report

The Milan stopper faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines. While his side are tangling with Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in the Champions League, he will be recovering from an operation...

Milan defender Oguchi Onyewu will undergo surgery on Wednesday to fix a ruptured patellar tendon in his left knee.

According to Usatoday.com, the US Soccer Federation have confirmed the surgery will take place in Los Angeles. It will be carried out by the national team doctor Bert Mandelbaum, though it is unknown as to how long Onyewu will be out of action.

Onyewu injured himself whilst playing for the USA in last week's World Cup qualifier against Costa Rica.

The Rossoneri stopper had only appeared once for his club before being struck down with injury.

Milan are back in action on Wednesday night, when they meet with Real Madrid in the Champions League.
