Fiorentina have signed Boca Juniors defender Ezequiel Muñóz, but an announcement won't be made until the January transfer market, according to Florence newspaper La Nazione.

Munoz is the first feather in the Viola's South American hat, as they are currently exploring other options across the continent.

A figure of around €5.5 million is the price that the Gigliati are set to pay for the 19-year-old stopper.

Munoz could come into the team and replace Juan Manuel Vargas, who looks set to sign with Real Madrid.

Vargas has been strongly liked with a move to the Spanish giants for some time now, and the move could go through in the January window.
