The injured defender will sit out the remaining matches of the calendar year.Milan have been dealt a massive blow with the news that one of their injured defenders in Daniele Bonera, will miss the next few months of football, after further aggravating a groin injury.
According to the Milan Channel, it was hoped that the 28-year-old would make an immediate return to action; however the medical staff have deemed his groin injury to be far more serious than initially believed, meaning that he will be forced to watch from the sidelines for the rest of the year.
In other news, Thiago Silva has overcome a slight muscular strain, and will take his place in the starting line-up if required this weekend, whilst Klaas-Jan Huntelaar managed to take part in the club’s double training session, despite recently returning from international commitments with the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, Marco Borriello is still struggling with a back problem, and consequently remains in doubt for the club’s next league clash against Roma, whereas the number on goalkeeper Christian Abbiati is nearing a return from a long term injury.
Milan host Roma at the San Siro stadium this Sunday, with the play set to get underway at 20:45 CET.
