Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder David Beckham says his return to AC Milan is "95 per cent done".

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star made the revelation after helping England to a 3-0 win over Belarus in their final World Cup qualifying match.

"It's close. I've always said I want to go back there if they want me. AC have said they wanted me back since I left to go back to the United States and they're saying the same now," he told ITV.

"It's 95 per cent done so I don't know why it wouldn't happen now."

Beckham joined Milan on loan last January in a bid to remain in Fabio Capello's reckoning for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The move angered many Galaxy fans, and the veteran pass-master was involved in angry confrontations with supporters upon his return to the club in the summer.
