Lazio president Claudio Lotito has dismissed rumours that have indicated the sale of Goran Pandev will help to bring in Benfica's Pablo Aimar to the capital.

Lotito also added that negotiations for players are done during the transfer windows, and not during any part of the season.

"There is no negotiation to sell Pandev and get Aimar," the Roman Eagles' president confirmed to Rai Sport.

"We do not involve ourselves in discussions outside of the consigned times.

"Otherwise, there would not be any point in creating transfer-market periods. The rules are there to be respected."

Pandev has not played a game for the Biancocelesti this season, and has been rumoured to be joining Inter in the January period.
