Milan Were Inches Away From A Positive Result Against Zurich – Zambrotta

The defender could have drawn his side level in the final few minutes of play.

Milan’s horror run of form continued, as they were defeated 1-0 by Swiss side Zurich in the Champions League.

It was the third match in succession that the Rossoneri failed to score in, and at the completion of the match, Gianluca Zambrotta discussed his disappointment at failing to break that poor run in the closing stages against the Swiss.

“A few inches could have changed our fortunes tonight, had I not hit the post in the second half,” Zambrotta explained to Sky.

“We gave everything we had, and we did have so many chances throughout the match, but we are at a somewhat negative point in our season.

“It’s true that we give our opponents too much space, and that we don’t operate well when in possession of the ball.

“It’s also true that we risk a bit too much. Nevertheless, tonight’s performance was still better than the one against Bari.”

Milan will be desperate to score and to return to the winner’s list this weekend, when they face the struggling Atalanta side in Serie A.
