Report: Napoli Torn Between Delio Rossi, Roberto Mancini & Luciano Spalletti
The Vesuviani are weighing up the pros and cons of a number of tacticians, but they are also looking for a loophole to bring in Spalletti…
The former Italy boss is likely to be shown the door next weekend if the Azzurri fail to get a positive result against Roma. The Italian media have already drawn up a short-list of potential candidates, which sees Delio Rossi and Roberto Mancini in pole position.
Former Lazio boss Rossi appears to be the most likely choice because his wages are in line with Napoli’s budget, especially considering that De Laurentiis will have to keep Donadoni on his payroll.
But the movie mogul is also tempted to turn to Mancini, who has been unemployed since being sacked by Inter in the summer of 2008, although his salary of €6 million-per-season could prove to be a stumbling block.
According to Sky Sport 24, ex-Roma boss Luciano Spalletti has come into the frame over the past few hours.
FIGC rules prevent the Tuscan tactician from taking over at the San Paolo this season after being in charge of the Giallorossi for the opening two games of the Serie A campaign.
But the Campani could hire the 50-year-old in an executive role until next summer, when he would properly takeover the reins of the team.
