Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon believes the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich on Wednesday could be one for the history books.

"Against Bayern it will be a match for those with brave hearts, it is a match that is ferocious for footballers," he was quoted as saying by Datasport.

"On Wednesday we will have no hesitation or fear, because we are playing against a very strong team in an extraordinary context. On paper, the Bavarians are our rivals in the group, but we will fight them and Bordeaux for first place."

The shot stopper then turned his attention to Sunday's 1-1 draw with Bologna, where his side conceded an injury time equaliser.

"We have wasted an opportunity, but that is the beauty of football too," he mused.

"To give up a goal at the end always makes me angry, even if we are winning 5-0. It must serve as a lesson and we must turn it into a healthy setback."

The Bianconeri are now second in the Serie A standings, one point behind Sampdoria.
