Claudio Marchisio: Juventus Must Improve
The midfielder has urged the Bianconeri not to drop any more points against the ‘minnows’ if they are to mount a serious title challenge...
Juventus wasted a glorious chance to regain top spot in Serie A yesterday when they conceded a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with Bologna at the Olimpico.
“It’s a shame we didn’t make the most of Inter’s defeat,” midfielder Claudio Marchisio sighed on the Juventus Channel.
“We must not drop any more vital points against the minnows. We are playing a lot of games and sometimes fatigue kicks in.
“We should have finished off the game in the second half and we had good chances to do it, but we failed to convert them.
“And then we were once again caught by surprise because we didn’t put ourselves in front of the ball on their free-kick. The same thing happened in Rome on [Daniele] De Rossi’s goal.”
The Turin giants now lie second in the table, one point adrift of Sampdoria, and travel to Palermo next weekend.
“We must definitely improve, because this is not the way to go,” warned the Italy international.
“We must work hard, be more focused and always go for a win, not just in direct confrontations, because every game is worth three points. That’s how you win the Scudetto.”
