The Brazilian midfielder, who signed for the Bianconeri this summer from Fiorentina, was booked in their 2-2 draw with Genoa last night, and the Nerazzurri defender let gathered journalists know what he thought of it.
"I am a bit like [coach Jose] Mourinho - I don't like it when I suffer injustices," Materazzi declared to Il Corriere dello Sport.
"Did you hear what Felipe Melo said after his booking? Shall I tell you? He said 'you son of a bitch' to the referee. Why was he not sent off?
"The laws must be equal for everyone. It happened in the Trofeo TIM as well - I told the referee [Antonio] Damato that it was a shame he blew for a penalty," Materazzi continued, recalling his dismissal in the pre-season tournament against Inter.
"It was for a trophy that doesn't even mean anything and I paid a €5,000 fine. It's not good like this.
"This is absolutely not a protest against the refereeing system. But if you want to have a working relationship then you must have the same standards."
