It was not just whistles, boos and distasteful banners that Barcelona ace Zlatan Ibrahimovic had to face when he returned to San Siro to face his former club Inter in the Champions League last week. The Swedish striker was the victim of a practical joke orchestrated by Italia 1 show ‘Le Iene’.
A child wearing an Inter shirt approached Ibrahimovic and held out his hand for him to shake. But as ‘Ibra’ was about to greet the youngster, the little rascal retracted his hand and blew a raspberry. The bemused Zlatan had nothing left to do but reply with a similar gesture.
The inspiration for the prank clearly came from the Chelsea mascot who thumbed his nose at Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard in the Stamford Bridge tunnel a few years ago.
The clip will be shown in tonight’s episode of the programme, which is hosted by Francesco Totti’s wife, Ilary Blasi.
