Fiorentina's Mutu, Jovetic & Gilardino Can Form A 'Devastating' Trio - Alberto Di Chiara

The ex-Viola defender believes that strikers could become a deadly trident in attack...

Alberto Gilardino and Adrian Mutu despair after Fiorentina are eliminated from the UEFA Cup by Ajax
Having played for both teams over his career, Alberto Di Chiara doesn't know who to support in this weekend's match between Roma and Fiorentina.

But one thing that the defender is certain about is the deadly combination that the Viola could potentially have in attack, with Adrian Mutu, Stevan Jovetic and Alberto Gilardino.

"I will say that [Cesare] Prandelli should let Mutu, Gilardino and Jovetic play together because together, they could become devastating," Di Chiara told Novantesimo.it.

"Mutu and Jovetic have the characteristics to play trequarstiti, and Gilardino could play as a lone point in front of them.

"Fiorentina is a squad that in attack, it has never had problems. They have always had great champions."

Di Chiara expects that the clash between the two sides will be a good match, with both teams having the motivation to want to win.

He continued, "I will definitely expect a good match, as both teams have a great rivalry. They also have the right motivations to win the match, and we shall see what happens.

"[Francesco] Totti is a very charismatic player, even if recently he has been suffering with injuries. He is still the best technically and mentally.

"The same can be said with Mutu, who has demonstrated on more than one occasion, to be the strength behind Fiorentina.

"Fiorentina have more of a chance to win, but a draw could be the way ends."
