Didier Deschamps: Milan's Filippo Inzaghi Has A Great Sense Of Goal
The Italian striker scored two goals in Milan's 2-1 win against Marseille on Tuesday evening to boost his side's chances of qualification to the next round of the Champions League...
Olympique Marseille coach Didier Deschamps hailed former team-mate and Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi for his brace and overall performance against this side on Tuesday evening.
Deschamps revealed that he had warned his defenders to keep a close eye on the Italian veteran striker, but that was not enough to stop him from scoring the winning goals for the Rossoneri.
"He has always had a great sense of goal and he proved it against us," explained the former Juventus player and coach to Sky.
"I had warned my men to be careful about his position, but that was not enough."
Thanks to these two goals, 'Super Pippo' has now scored a total of 70 goals in all European competitions and is now the joint record goalscorer of all time, alongside German legend Gerd Muller.
Deschamps played with Inzaghi for two seasons at Juventus, where they both helped the Bianconeri win the Scudetto in 1998.
