Juventus Coach Ciro Ferrara: No Mistakes Against Bordeaux

The coach has warned his side to tread carefully when challenging Bordeaux for Champions League points...

Juventus coach Ciro Ferrara says the time is right to challenge for the Champions League, but has warned against complacency when his side clash with Bordeaux tomorrow night.

The Bianconeri welcome the French champions in Turin, hoping to continue their unbeaten run this season. It will be Ferrara's first European tie as coach, and he wants nothing but perfection from his men.

"Tomorrow will not be a normal game for us. The first match always has hidden dangers and Bordeaux are one of the strongest teams," Ferrara told the press.

"It's a special game for me as it's my [European] debut. The preparation and focus has to be to the maximum. We cannot afford any mistakes in Europe. Unlike the league, we cannot slow down."

Alessandro Del Piero and Diego are injured, and so the coach has told Sebastian Giovinco to step up to the plate.

"Del Piero is continuing his work and he will be back once he is 100 per cent. As for Diego, the tests showed there is no problem, and so we hope to have him back by the end of the week," added the coach.

"Giovinco? I am happy with the players that came on against Lazio. If he is in the team then it's because we believe in him and his qualities."

The coach has told his men to pay attention to Yoann Gourcuff, who has scored four goals in five games for the French side this season.

"We have a rough idea of how Bordeaux play and the players they have. They have an important team with players like Gourcuff and [Yoan] Goffran. Bordeaux are dangerous on the break and we have to be ready for that," concluded Ferrara.
