thumbnail Hello,

The Serbian is adamant that he wants to leave the Viola...

The departure of Zdravko Kuzmanovic from Fiorentina is drawing ever closer after the highly-rated Serbian handed in a transfer request to the club.

According to calciomercato.com, Kuzmanovic formally asked sporting director Pantaleo Corvino for a transfer after the match against Sporting CP.

The €8 million-rated midfielder has been uncertain of his future with the club ever since Cristiano Zanetti's arrival from Juventus. Stevan Jovetic, Kuzmanovic's close friend, attempted to convince him to stay with the Viola over dinner last night, but his mind is set.

The 21-year-old is thought to have spoken with former Viola defender Tomas Ujfalusi about a transfer to Atletico Madrid, while both Milan and Sevilla registered their interest in the former Basel midfielder earlier in the summer.

Kuzmanovic will not be playing in the colours of Lazio, however. It was thought that the Serbian would form a makeweight in a deal for Goran Pandev, but the striker's agent has dismissed the idea that his client will move to Fiorentina.
