Earlier this week a report emerged that Italian champions Inter were considering making a move for Schalke midfielder Ivan Rakitic, but German daily Bild now claims that long-term admirers Juventus are also back in for the Croatian international.
The Turin based side have been closely monitoring the situation of the 21-year-old Rakitic for more than a year now, but the latest report suggests that Juventus will now make a move for the gifted midfielder.
Schalke are currently plagued by financial troubles and they could be tempted to cash in on Rakitic if the prize is right. The Gelsenkirchen outfit reportedly value the young playmaker at €8 million.
Head coach Felix Magath, who vetoed the transfer of right-back Rafinha to Juventus, won't be worried too much about the departure of Rakitic as Schalke have already signed a replacement in Lewis Holtby.
Magath would be delighted to see some extra cash coming in, handing him the chance to strengthen his squad in different areas.
