Alvaro Negredo Will Sign For Hull City Or Real Zaragoza - Agent

The Tigers could be beaten to the Spaniard's signature by los Blanquillos...

Alvaro Negredo, Real Madrid
While Hull City had appeared to be hot favourites for Alvaro Negredo's signature, but reports from Spain are suggesting that Real Zaragoza have jumped to the front of the queue.

According to El Periodico de Aragon, Negredo could sign a contract with Zaragoza as soon as tomorrow, after rapid talks between the Aragonese outfit and Real Madrid.

In addition, the paper quotes the player's agent, Alejandro Camano, as saying that, "Now it is a race between Hull City and Zaragoza."

The news means that Italian side Roma will have to look elsewhere for striking options, as the Giallorossi had hoped to take the 23-year-old on loan with an option to buy next summer. Although the Italians were Negredo's preferred option, according to his agent, an outlay of around €14m was not viable for the Lupi.

Hull will be hoping to land another striker from the Primera Division after taking Jozy Altidore on loan from Villarreal, while Negredo could prove crucial as Zaragoza look to reinstate themselves in Spain's top flight - the Spaniard scored 32 goals in 70 league games for Almeria in the last two seasons.
