Chelsea Interested In Sampdoria Striker Pazzini
A source indicates the Pensioners want to bring the ex-Viola to Stamford Bridge...
According to French website les-transferts.com, Chelsea have identified Sampdoria hitman Giampaolo Pazzini as a transfer target.
The Italian has been on fire since joining the Blucerchiati from Fiorentina last January, hitting 15 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions and forging an excellent partnership with Antonio Cassano.
The Blues are reportedly willing to pay €18 million for his signature and the move would allow them to offload seldom-used striker Andriy Shevchenko, whose salary demands take up a significant amount of space on the club's wage bill.
Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti reportedly has been an admirer of the former Atalanta striker, who scored against the tactician's Milan outfit last season.
Pazzini also earned his first cap for the Italian national team last year, but has not been included in Marcello Lippi's most recent string of call-ups.
