Juventus Aiming To Improve On Last Season's Finish - Alessio Secco
The Bianconeri official does not want to be too hasty in his assessment of the club's potential this season...
Despite what is viewed as a positive transfer campaign this summer, Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco was reluctant to say that his side have closed the gap on Inter, claiming that will only be known once the 2009-10 campaign is finished.
"I'm not interested in playing games in the summer. It isn't a race with Inter, our goal is to do better than last year," he told Radio Kiss Kiss.
"I don't know if the gap is reduced, these are things we will know at the end of the championship. We have made moves in the market and are receiving signals that are very comforting."
Meanwhile, Secco once again expressed his delight that captain Alessandro Del Piero's contract was renewed for a further season until 2011.
"Our captain is happy," he continued.
"With Alessandro we immediately found an agreement for an extension. Del Piero feels he is part of the heart of Juventus."
The Bianconeri have acquired Diego, Felipe Melo, and Fabio Cannavaro this summer in hopes of winning the Scudetto.
