The Viola have claimed they are looking to sign the experienced defender...
The Italian outfit have been coy over their interest in the Brazil international, who has been with Benfica since 2003.
But Pantaleo Corvino, Fiorentina's sporting director, has now admitted that the club want to sign Luisao, as long as the deal is made on their terms.
"Luisao interests us, but in order to sign him we have to reach an agreement with Benfica and both parties will have to give in," he told Record. "We will defend our conditions."
According to reports, Fiorentina will table a first offer for Luisao in the region of €8 million, which Benfica will reject, after which the Viola will lodge a new bid, which will never pass the €10m mark, according to Corvino.
The sporting director added, "We have not made an offer yet, but it should happen soon. It will not reach the €10m mark, but that is a figure that will be the top of our aspirations to sign Luisao. However, we want to negotiate with Benfica.
"Let's wait for the market to unfold. This is a deal that does not have to be done now.
"Our intention is to get the player, but we will not do anything crazy."
