thumbnail Hello,

La Viola's right-back has responded to the recent rumours linking the Ivorian to his club.

There were a number of reports that emerged yesterday suggesting that Fiorentina were extremely interested in signing Emmanuel Eboue from Arsenal on a five-year contract, with the transfer fee costing them around €10 million.

These reports were later confirmed by the club, as they publicly declared that they are prepared to do everything they can in order to acquire the services of the experienced right-back.

Gianluca Comotto, the man whose place in the starting line-up will come under pressue if the Viola do eventually sign Eboue, recently spoke about the potential arrival of the Gunner.

“Obviously there is a large possibility of this taking place, but I am calm at present, and I certainly do not fear anyone,” Comotto explained to

“A foreign player coming to a club will always bring something new with them, but for me this isn’t a problem.

“It is important for a team like Fiorentina to have two players for all roles, including my own.

“I managed to attract the interest of this club before I signed for several seasons. I was one of the best in my position in Italy, something that everyone is now aware of.”

Comotto closed the interview by briefly discussing the season ahead, especially referring to his anticipation of taking part in another Champions League campaign.

“Last season was the most difficult of my career, as I suffered a serious injury," he affirmed.

“I am feeling very good now, though, and I cannot wait to play in the Champions League, and I am looking forward to doing it with this club.”
