thumbnail Hello,

The versatile Argentine front-man could be heading to Florence this summer…

Fiorentina have become the hot favourites to land Argentina’s latest bright prospect, Eduardo Salvio.

According to itasportpress.it, La Viola are prepared to table a €12 million offer for the 19-year-old, the amount that the player’s club, Lanus, has set as the asking price.

Salvio’s agent, Agustin Jimenez, is already in Europe to engage in talks with interested parties, having previously had discussions with Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Inter.

Atleti had been the frontrunners to pick up the talented youngster, who can play as a striker or an attacking midfielder, but failure to meet Lanus’ valuation has forced the transfer to drag on and allow other teams to join the chase.

Nicknamed ‘Toto’, Salvio only just burst into the scene in Argentina last year when he made his debut against Boca Juniors in August. He made a total of 29 appearances last term, scoring nine goals in the process.

Fiorentina, meanwhile, are also reportedly on the verge of signing Arsenal’s Emmanuel Eboue for around €10 million.
