Following David Rozehnal’s absence from Lazio’s friendly with Spal on Wednesday, it now appears the Czech defender is on the verge of sealing his move to Hamburg, thus freeing up a slot at the back for the Biancocelesti to move in the transfer market.

After tracking former Fenerbahce stopper Diego Lugano for some time now, Lazio are preparing to make a proposal to the Uruguayan, according to Corriere dello Sport. With Lugano reportedly demanding a contract worth €2.5m-per-season, some lengthy negotiations are expected given Lazio’s current wage limit of €2m.

As club patron Lotito looks to secure the sale of Rozehnal, a revolution in the Biancocelesti back line is set to follow as the club looks to offload Emilson Cribari and Guglielmo Stendardo. With Palermo interested in bringing the Brazilian to the Barbera, Lazio could finally be on the verge of reducing their squad size as Supercoppa Italiana draws near.
