The Brazilian defender has arrived in Los Angeles and vows to help keep the Nerazzurri flag flying high.

Inter officially completed the signing of Brazilian international centre-back Lucio from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich last night, with the 31-year-old committing his future to the Italian champions until June 2012.

The ex-Bayer Leverkusen man has already joined his new team-mates in California and was introduced to Jose Mourinho and his staff by Inter chief executive Ernesto Paolillo and president Massimo Moratti’s sister Bedy.

And after dinner, the 2002 World Cup winner gave his first interview as an Inter player to the club’s official television channel.

“I feel very proud to become part of a club and a team like Inter,” he told Inter Channel.

“I am here to try and give my best to keep winning.”

Compatriots Julio Cesar and Maicon are still on holiday following their efforts at the Confederations Cup with the Selecao, but are expected to join the squad in Boston this week.

“It’s true, I will meet two of my Brazil team-mates, Julio Cesar and Maicon, in a few days, but I already know many other champions who play for Inter, having faced them over the past few years,” concluded the defender.

Lucio had been at Bayern since 2004, winning three league titles, three German Cups and as many German Super Cups.
