You Need €150m To Win The Scudetto - Fiorentina Coach Cesare Prandelli
The Viola man, who has led his side to the Champions League twice in a row, feels winning the Scudetto will cost serious money...
The former Parma coach has built a good squad by bringing in players he worked alongside during his Ducali days. Despite boasting an impressive side including Adrian Mutu, Sebastien Frey, Alberto Gilardino and Marco Marchionni, the Italian feels only those with mega spending powers can afford to win the title.
"We are talking about years in order to win it," Prandelli told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"If you want to win the Scudetto you have to spend €150 million, but the gap between us and the teams who spend that money is still big.
"However, we can go forward by creating a winning spirit and the will to give the right responses.
"I have always dreamed [of winning the Scudetto], but we have to work patiently and gradually in order to win something big."
Prandelli's side have qualified for the Champions League preliminaries for two years in succession and the coach will be hoping his team make a decent claim for the Tricolore this term.
