Lazio Tracking Velez Sarsfield's Nicolas Otamendi - Report
The Biancocelesti are hoping to secure the Argentine stopper to complete their defensive line for next season...
Whilst Lazio continue to make heavy work in finding suitors for the want away Goran Pandev and Christian Ledesma, it seems the Biancocelesti are continuing to work under the radar as they look to complete their squad for next season.
The latest reports from Lazialita.it have suggested Igli Tare is working to bring in Argentine international Nicolas Otamendi from Velez Sarsfield. With Lazio looking to complete their defensive line with the addition of another centre back, the 21-year-old is seen as a hot prospect for the future.
Given Lazio’s current quota of non-EU players, the Argentine will only be available to the Aquilotti on loan, as he takes the vacant slot of Juan Pablo Carrizo, who was recently loaned out to Real Zaragoza.
Should the Biancocelesti manage to offload Goran Pandev or Stephen Makinwa in the coming weeks, however, the Aquilotti would be able to bring him in on a permanent deal.
With Velez valuing the player at €8m, he could prove another of Lotito’s bargain buys, as refines the squad for the coming season.
