thumbnail Hello,

Now that the Italian striker has finally chosen his club for next season, he is looking towards breaking into the national set-up...

Robert Acquafresca was officially presented as an Atalanta player today, having completed his loan move from new club Genoa. The Italian forward had moved from Inter to the Rossoblu as part of the Diego Milito transfer, but is delighted to be part of Angelo Gregucci's side.

"I am happy to be here, it will be a great partnership," he enthused to Datasport.

"I have chosen Atalanta because they have shown great confidence in my abilities," the Italy Under-21 international continued. "I always strive to improve myself, and we will see what happens in the future.

"The national side is a dream, why not pursue it? I am hoping to be part of it."

Acquafresca was present at the European Under-21 Championships this summer, scoring three goals. While some of his performances were slightly disappointing, the 21-year-old is now readying himself for the season ahead and will be hoping to improve on last season's tally of 14 goals for Cagliari.

"We are proud to have him finally with us," added Carlo Osti, Atalanta's sporting director.

"He has been in our plans for some time and for him to now be in Bergamo gives us great satisfaction. We are delighted as he is someone who really wants to play for Atalanta."
