Trezeguet And Amauri On Target As Juventus Thrash Cisco Roma
In their first friendly of the summer, Juventus beat Cisco Roma 4-1, with David Trezeguet and Amauri both finding the net.
Today Juventus played their first friendly of the pre-season against Cisco Roma, and ran out 4-1 winners.
New arrivals Diego and Felipe Melo, who officially joined the club earlier today, did not feature in this match, while a few Confederations Cup participants were also still resting.
Ciro Ferrara's team started with a 4-3-1-2 formation in which captain Alessandro Del Piero played behind David Trezeguet and Amauri in attack. They went in front in the 9th minute, when Trezeguet converted a cross from the right by Jonathan Zebina.
Juventus then came close to doubling the score several times, before Franchini surprisingly equalised for Cisco in the 26th minute with a shot from the edge of the area. The first half finished 1-1.
Halfway through the second half, however, Juventus scored two goals within a few minutes to seal the result. In the 64th minute Cristiano Zanetti restored their lead with a shot from the edge of the area, and three minutes later Amauri made it 3-1 with a volley.
The fourth goal came in the 84th minute through Simone Esposito, who scored with a header.
There some good indications overall for Ferrara, with Amauri looking especially sharp, although it was perhaps disappointing for the fans that he had to do without Diego.
