Ivan Cordoba: Inter Are Still The Best Team In Italy
The veteran believes that the Nerazzurri are still a class above their Serie A rivals from Turin...
As Javier Zanetti has not returned from his holidays, defender Ivan Cordoba is the acting team captain and he spoke about the activities of their rivals Juventus on the transfer market.
"Maybe we are a source of motivation for them. It is normal that when a team has finished the season behind another that they try to reach those that have done better," he suggested in an interview with USA Today.
The Colombian international then had a fairly diplomatic answer when asked if Juventus had now become the best team in Serie A.
"I have always believed that a team must prove themselves on the field, but on paper, Inter are still the strongest team in Italy," he continued.
"Some new players arrived and the market is not yet finished, but right now we are the most powerful."
Cordoba joined Inter in 2000 from San Lorenzo and has made over 360 appearances for the club.
