Andrea Pirlo Is Irreplaceable - AC Milan Defender Alessandro Nesta
The World Cup winner believes his team-mate should stay at the San Siro this summer...
"Milan is an unknown quantity, if we retrieved all [the injured players] from last year, we would not have played so surprisingly," he explained to Sky on Friday, referring to the side's trophyless campaign in 2008-09.
"[New coach] Leonardo has so much enthusiasm and will do well."
One player linked with a move away from the San Siro is midfielder Andrea Pirlo, who is reportedly wanted by Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, but the centre-back thinks letting him go would be a big mistake.
"Pirlo is an irreplaceable player, I think he will remain with us."
Meanwhile, he spoke about the club's main rivals, who have both been more active on the transfer market during the summer.
"Inter have something more than everyone, even if Juventus have made some good purchases."
